Mmmmm, more cookies!

These are very good! Alex and I both really liked them, and we're not crazy about oatmeal cookies normally! :) I gave Titus a piece and he crumbled it all over the kitchen floor and then ate it all up :P. Mmmm!!

Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp salt
3 cups rolled oats

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla until smooth. Combine the flour, soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt; stir into the sugar mixture. Stir in the oats and raisins. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake 10-12 minutes until light and golden. Do not overbake. Let them cool for 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheets to cool completely. Store in airtight container. Make sure you get some, because they don't last long!

I just made this cookie last night in "giant-pizza-cookie" format, to take to church to celebrate Beth's 18th birthday. I got lots of compliments, and did I give any credit to Abby?- no sirree! So I'll give her credit here.
Nice recipe Abby! Even if James did say it's not the same as the family recipe. Yeah, that's why I tried it! He concluded that a lot of the difference was that I didn't have raisins, so neither did the cookie. That's probably what I liked about it!
I also like cinnamon in oatmeal cookies. Oh, I did leave the cloves out. We seem to like some stuff better without cloves.
