Hot Fudge Sauce

We needed a hot fudge sauce the other night. A good one. You know, the kind you slather over fresh gooey brownies and homemade German chocolate ice cream (with coconut frosting chunks swirled through it)? Yeah, that kind. So proper research procedure was followed, a recipe procured, and the said recipe promptly altered and enhanced to fit the contents of my cupboards, and my cheapish personality. I wanted to get beyond my truffle sauce that relies on chocolate chips, and get more basic than that. So here it goes:

1/2 cup milk (whole is fabulous!)
2/3 cup sugar
3 T. butter
1 cup milk powder
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1 t.-T. (or so) vanilla

Cook milk, sugar and butter together over medium heat until... well, I guess I let mine get all bubbly and foamy. Oh yeah, stir it sort of oftenish cause it might stick to the bottom and burn. I assume it could anyway, it seems reasonable. Then dump it and the powdered milk into a blender, and blast it until smooth. Pour in the vanilla and blast a little more. Now QUICK pour it out of the blender before it cools and firms up a bunch. And as long as you are pouring it out, you may as well find that brownie...

P.S. YUM!!!!!!!!!!

P.P.S. "yum!! yum!! yum!! yum!! yum!! yum!!" (That was the kids.)

P.P.P.S. You know, some day I REALLY have to get my camera into the kitchen?!

Wow, I'll have to try that next time we have ice cream around! It would probably be good on an ice cream cake too... :D
